I am an archaeologicist based in Cornwall. Since I graduated from University College London in 2002, I have undertaken a wide range of roles from excavations, watching briefs and landscape surveys to desk-based assessments, report production and GIS mapping. I have had experience excavating a variety of archaeological sites, located both in the UK and abroad. These have ranged from Bronze Age, Iron Age, Post-Roman, Medieval and Post-Medieval sites in England and Ireland to a Hellenistic town in Greece, a Late Bronze Age - Iron Age II city in Israel, as well as several seasons excavating a Palaeoindian occupation site along the banks of the Amazon River at Santarem, Brazil. From 2008 to 2014 I specialised in Aerial Archaeology for the Cornwall sector of English Heritage’s National Mapping Programme team, undertaking various mapping projects across southern England including the South Dorset Ridgeway, Hampshire Downs, the South Downs and the New Forest National Park. We mapped and interpreted thousands of new and existing archaeological sites identified from earthworks, cropmarks and soilmarks visible on historic and modern aerial photographs, Google Earth imagery and 3D data from airborne laser scanning (LIDAR). Recent excavations have included working as part of the Cornwall Archaeological Units team undertaking English Heritage research excavation projects at Tintagel Island and Castilly Henge.
